I'm new to this forum and looking for some techy help if poss.

I'm just replacing the dashboard in my 2009 B8 A4 after the airbag was deployed.

I have removed the old dashboard and have both the old 2009 airbag and the replacement airbag which is from a 2011 model on my table. Both items look the same and have the same fixing points etc...

Except... the replacement 2011 airbag does not have the extra wiring plug connection on the left end of unit.

The original has an earthing lug one end and a twin wire yellow plastic connection on each end.

Does anyone know why Audi has revised the connections and what the now defunct connection did?

Can I still use the new unit without using the missing connection?
