1998 AEB 1.8T - MAF upgrade for T3 turbo

From the stickies, I am pointed at upgrading the MAF on my car (NOT drive by wire DBW, but DBC drive by cable; no intake pressure ECU) to a VR6 MAF.

a) Does any VR6 MAF work?
b) Only the housing (reuse the sensor)? There are even bigger (3 and 3.5" MAF housings).
c) Not sure what the working principle is for those sensors, but it likely measure flow speed (time area = volume). If putting the sensor from a smaller (mine) housing into a larger (VR6) housing, the sensor will spit out flow (liter/min or similar) values that are smaller than actual. To make sure the ECU gets the truth, those values need to be adjusted (in the tune likely), right?

Also on the sticky list: Injectors (is 440cc sufficient for T3 project (something like 50 trim 0.48 A/R, or 550 or 630cc better to be covered).

Other items require seperate posts (manifold: external or internal wastegate; MBC, EBC: a must, and if so, which; dump out or recirculate?: off the shelf tune or piggyback (Haltech Sprint 500 or Maestro)?
