3 inch testpipe....
i recently put a 3 inch test pipe but now it goes from three inch to 2.25 inch because i used my origional pipes.... Should i invest in 3" all the way back? And am i getting too much back pressure which will make me lose power? Its a 97 A4 1.8t FWD

i had the same set up with a borla exhst. but i didnt seem right to go from 3 to 2.25 without a smooth transition to the 2.25. so i went 3 all the way back up to the rear diff. and then a transition to the 2.25 to have some back pressure. this is on a ko3.

If you are running a GT28r or larger you will want to go 3" all the way back, if you are running a K03/K04 a 2.5" exhaust is the largest you will want to go with.
BTW nice picture of the car at the track, what does it run? Might want to stiff up the rear to reduce the squat during the launch which will increase your traction and decrease your 60 ft times. You can do this just by slipping a set of bushings on the shock shaft so it just acts like it is sitting on a bump stop, you can then pull them off after your done racing. It is something we did on a GTI for the eurotuner GP back in 2006. I do this on my quattro A4 but on the front to decrease dive during shifts using a set of Stern rear diff bushings. |
Its a 97 FWD so it sucks traction wise and the best it ran was a 15.13 on 18 psi. where can i get them bushings for the rear because it sags whenever i launch it.

Stern Rear diff bushings Just double check to see if you are able to do this on the rear shocks on your A4 so that the car ends up sitting on them like a bump stop. |

im not sure where they belong.. nd it says its 4 a quattro nd i have front wheel drive...so do u have a picture so i can check it out tomorrow?

The part is a rear diff bushing for a B5 quattro. I used them to slip onto the shock shaft to act like a bump stop that I could then just pull back out without taking the car apart. You would do the same thing but on the rear shocks so the car wont squat.

No you shouldn't need to take the shocks apart if you can see the shock while its on the car. Just jack up the car, pull the boot down or up and slip the bushing onto the shaft after cutting a slit in the bushing. |
