Anybody out there take off your resonator?
I have a 2000 A4 2.8 with a flowmaster 40 series muffler and a k&n drop in filter. It sounds pretty good on the inside but i would like it louder of course. Is cutting off the resonator a good idea or not? Maybe if i had it cut off but had it fabricated by somebody that it could be put back into place if i had too. Any advice from somebody who is running a non resinated exhaust?
Thanks guys. |
Im curious about the same thing guys. I have Magnaflow 14805 and I want to cut off resonator

Anybody????

i think if you posted this in B5 forum you would def get more responces

i believe the 2.8 has a center muffler as well as a tail muffler. Cutting the resonator will increase the sound but you still have that second muffler (i believe) to quiet it a small bit. just cut it haha

my idea is to clear my catalytics and remove middle muffler and install rear magnaflow 14805 what you think about that?
|
I dont know if this would help any but I am running a down pipe and test pipe with stock cat back on my 06 A3 and it is pretty loud.

I gutted the resonator and rear muffler on my 98 a4 1.8t to run a magnaflow and it sounds ballsy as all hell.

well for the 2.8, my plan when i get the money is to run this:

resonator
i have a 2.8 with a magnaflow 14816 and i took the resonator off and it sounds great inside and outside. So i say go ahead take it off you dont really need it. sounds similar to the car on this video.
