Do a search about BOV's.
I'm a newbie to the Audi world too (don't even own one yet) but it's a closed-loop system just like Eclipses which are my 'specialty.' Blow-off valves are designed for an open-loop system whereas a bypass valve/diverter valve are for closed-loop. If you were to put a BOV on an Audi w/o modification of some sort then you would be running rich in between shifts. This would very slowly cause damage to the turbo and simply harm your engine -- rich conditions are just bad, leave it at that. The air that is being vented to the atmosphere is no longer being metered by the MAF. I'm not sure which kind of aftermarket support there is for running a true BOV on an Audi but for DSMs/Eclipses there's the Maf-Translator + 3" GM MAF sensor setup allowing you to run a BOV correctly. Simply put, don't run a BOV. Go get a diverter valve/bypass valve. Look at the Forge 007, I've been reading reviews like crazy and they seem to be overall very nice for the $. |

u can put one on but it needs it has to have an extremely tight spring. we put one on my friends car (1.8t passat). it was from turbo xs and we had to add all the washers it came with to keep the car from stalling. the problem is when u make the spring in the bov stiff enough to where ur car wont stall, the vacum pressure has a hard time opening the valve so when u drive slow you can hear turbo surge because the valve is not opening. in the long run its not good for your turbo. iv hear of people using hybrid bov's but have never seen actualy seen one.
another thing is my friend noticed his car was alittle slower with it. we could never figure out why. |

Just do not use a BOV on any of these cars. Simply Put. Anyone who tryes to rig it just to make it work has serious mental problems. It aint meant for it so dont use it :D
