Exhaust leak

I have what sounds like a small exhaust leak near my front driver side tire, its king of sputtering when I get on the gas a little. Is this something that would cause alot of power loss? It is a 1.8 t

Well I thought one of you Audi nuts would have somewhat of an answer for me. I've been a member for about a month now and have searched for every other question I've had and found answers. Give me something tell me I'm a dumb noob and go F$%k myself, just don't ignore me. Lol jk

RE: Exhaust leak

the best way to check for a exhaust leak like that is to have the engine cold and feel around the manifold turbo etc for exhaust coming out before the exhaust gets to hot. If you have an longitudinal engine the exhaust runs down the passenger side btw, if the noise is definitely drivers side, then I would look for a boost leak. that would cause sputtering.

Avant, I understand it doesn't take an expert to tell if the exhaust is leaking. My question was, will it cause dramatic power loss on a car with a turbo. Never had a turbo before...
