stock exhaust diameter?

hey guys im thinking of doing custom exhaust on my b5 a4, so my question is what is the stock exhaust diameter size? and what is usually the best size for a 1.8T would 2.5" do it? or should i go up to 2.75"?

Yea, I'm curious myself. How about 3" all the way to the back?
