tuning an a4 3.0

is there anyone tuning a 3.0L a4? I am trying to decide between a 1.8t and and the 3 liter

I have 3.0 and am trying to tune it as well.
Sadly, from what I found out is that 3.0's, especially Front wheel drive tip-tronics, lack plenty of parts.
They do however have a supercharger for a 3.0, but I spoke with someone who did do that, and it wasn't very successful. He said something blew...transmission, tranny, eh I don't remember. I personally am going to change to a 1.8t quattro manual...

you guys need to stick with it. performance support will not come about if there is no demand for it. personally, i think the 3.0 has potential. i'd love to get my hands on one of those cars and do a proper build.

I own a 3.0 Quattro, and after driving a friend's 1.8t it seemed under powered. Not enough oomph for the weight of the car plus 2 peeps.

Have you guys checked out lltek's "SprintBoost" - supposedly helps give the sense of greater acceleration - not a chip, but does supposedly work for the 3.0...

Quad

I personally love my 3.0, granted I have the USP so that adds a little bit (not performance wise but looks wise)
the 3.0 is more luxury than the 1.8.

I agree with diabolical1, if we ask enough for mods for the 3.0's at some point we shall receive.
there is definite potential with the 3 liters.

I want an audi really bad 06-20-2011 12:04 AM

well it really does depend on how much power you seek to put down..and obviously the money you can throw down! BUT generally to properly tune a 1.8t you're looking at either a gt-28r turbo of some sort which is usually around 330hp to the crank (give or take 260-270whp) but that also means roughly $10,000 for the turbo kit, ecu chip and intercooler and no installation(more money) or you could send it to a high performance tuner get all forged pistons, stroke and bore it to a 2.0, drop a gt-30r turbo and for $18,000 or so have a 430whp monster haha or get the 3.0 with an AWE g.i.a.c ecu chip and AWE exhaust for a total of around $2000 and push out possibly 280hp to the crank naturally aspirated so its easier on the engine instead of forcing air through the engine with a big turbo. (I'd personally go with the 3.0, cheaper, sounds better, more practical.

chip the 1.8 with revo for $400 brings it up to 210hp and 240 ft/tq, engine is really de-tuned in America
