What exhaust should I go with?
I have a 97 1.8T a4 and Im looking to get an exhaust system that makes it sound more powerful. I don't want it to sound like most civics. And I don't want it to be too quite but not too loud. What exhaust should I go with?

You should research. Magnaflow and Borla seem to be the popular choices.

ive heard remus mufflers on audis and they sound exactly how i want my car to sound so i might go with remus but thanks for the help

Milltek
If Milltek does an exhaust for your A4, you should check them out. The quality is top notch, and some Audi dealerships even sell them and warranty them.

how much would they cost?

thats crazy! dude my audi is dying on me. the second cylinder is misfiring so i replaced all my spark plugs and that didnt stop the problem so forget the exhaust im fixing my car

i fixed the problem today and it didnt cost much so i still want an exhaust. i like the sound of the magnaflow 14815 with the resonator removed but most people swap out the catalytic converter with a test pipe but im moving to a place that has emission testing so i cant get a test pipe. are there performance catalytic converters? i dont want to buy a system, just the catalytic converter.

Dude, theres no reason to spend a shit ton of money on an exhaust. im building mine as we speak. So far ive got a flomaster muffler that i found on Craigslist. Cost me half of what it would have new. Now i just need a resonator and a trip to the shop and ive got a sick set up for under $200. Thats with the homie hook up for labor charge though. Take your time and piece it together yourself. Or you could shell out $1000..

thats what im thinking im gonna do. i talked to my local exhaust shop and they said they could order the muffler and install it for around $150
