Default 2001 A6 Leaky Trunk

I have a 2001 A6. Does anyone have any problems with water getting into their trunk. My spare wheel well, can get several inches of water into it. I am wondering does anyone else have or have had this problem? I have a system and dont want to get fried because of water. HELP!!!! Please =)

Not common. Let's troubleshoot.

Was your car ever wrecked?

If you have a leak that is the result of a misaligned lid, or bad weatherstripping, the water will allow gravity to take it to the lowest point(s). Have you looked in the little compartments on the sides? Are they dry? If not, it could still be another spot, the rear window surround. If they are dry, I'd bet that you have a hole somewhere in the spare wheel pan (though i HIGHLY doubt it), if you've got that much water, it'd have to be a huge hole.

If all else fails, get in the trunk with a flashlight, and have someone with a running hose run water over the rear window, and start looking around the rear deck area, and around the trunk lid edges.

Oh, and BTW, if you have a system, make sure that some wingnut didn't drill a big fat hole somewhere for a ground or to mount a box / amp.
