No you dont need anything special.. But the shop will most likly charge you an arm n a leg to set it up for you. There is a lot of wiring work involved. Honostly, I wouldnt mess with that or change it. Stock system sounds good as it is. Plus, if they mess up they could totally screw up your car's computer and alarm and such... not worth it

WTF are you talking about, it is easy as hell to add subs to a stock unit, i would go to ur local ABC and see what they want for the install,

took me and hour or so tops... including running all the wiring for the amp and such.

What exactly do you need? Ive been wanting to hook up a sub and amp to my stock headunit for awhile. Do you just run the wires under the carpet and which wires do you tap into behind the stock stereo unit?

there is a few ways to do it, and noone has explained any of them to you thus far. line level input is the cheapest and somewhat easiest way. poor quality sometimes. you can also get a unit from JL audio that lets you add amps so you can get signal from RCAs instead of speaker wires. plus you can tweak it to perfection without tapping into your factory wiring. I had a couple kickers installed and all i needed was a hi-lo converter to tap into the amp other than that...simple shit...id look into the DIY a4mods.com
