Default Nav LCD Screen Replacement / Repair?

Hey all! I'm new to the boards, and just bought a 2006 S4, and love it! However, I need some help...

I have the navigation system, and it somehow got scratched. I've been to hell and back with the dealership, and they're telling me that nothing can be done except to replace the whole unit.

Anyway, I'm hoping some of my fellow Audi owners out there will have some suggestions for me, whether it be where to get just a replacement screen, or perhaps even a way to repair the surface.

Thanks in advance...

kilo,
sounds like you have the RNS-E nav unit. Pretty sweet isn't it? I just installed one in my 2001 A6 (see links below).

Anyway, your best bet is to find someone that has a spare screen and can swap it for you. For that, you should sign up on www.navplus.us. I bet there are a few folks that can probably help....for a fee.

Also, for future reference, I would recommend adding a protector screen (check ebay) and see what is out there. I'm in the market for one myself.

Good luck!

Teddy,
Where did you pick up your RNS-E unit? I am in the market, trying to track one down without having to go through a dealer.

Thanks.
