I thought this was a nice little mod to the oem interior.
My grey carbon imitation was all scratched up. And after looking online for a while I found a 45 piece wood dash kit for about 450$ CAD.

Even had some pieces to dress up the plain black radio control area, sunroof controls, back doors and back controls as well as back ashtray.

I chose the cherry wood imitation and I think it turned out pretty well.

 

Honestly that's one of the better-looking aftermarket overlay kits I've seen. Funny you had carbon trim and went to wood. I had wood trim and redid it three times before finally leaving it as I have it now, reskinned in black suede. That's a nice looking kit though and you look to have installed it very well - nothing looks uneven or "off". I like it.
