For sale is a custom box (built for the B7, but I am sure the B6 shares the same storage as well) which is installed on the driver's side of the trunk. It goes in place of the storage compartment and its location is behind the trunk liner in case you want to go back to stock without changing anything in your car.
I only covered the front with carpet to make it look acceptable in the trunk.

This box doesn't come already cut with a hole to install your subwoofer.
You will have to place the box in the location and mark make adjustments to how precise you want it to be to get it aligned with the storage's opening.
In the pictures referenced, I initially had a 12'' sub installed. As you can see, the 12'' fits perfect in the opening. I now have a 10'' installed for better room and it sounds way better.

This is what it looks like completely installed wit a 10" sub. And, for those that like their trunk space, this is one good route to go with.
