Description:

Connection rod went through the engine block.  I attempted to buy a used engine off somebody in South Florida ($4,100) and it was not what was advertised. Having another child so it's time to get rid of this car. I had APR stage 2+ tuned done on 9/25/2020.  TSW wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s with 5,000 miles on it.  Red power coated brake caliper.  Just replaced all fuel injectors on 1/7/21.  Cold weather package, LED light package; glacier white paint, S line premium plus interior

Regarding this replacement engine this is how my mechanic described the engine and potential issues we could have it.

"The real issue is the fact that the engine block has been welded on due to the collision the car sustained. This brings to mind a lot of potential issues.
I remember asking him weeks ago if the damage intruded on the engine and he said that the alternator bracket broke but thats it. I interpreted that as damage to a part bolted to the engine, not actual engine block damage. He didn;t say the engine had been welded up. Further, the cylinder heads bolt to the crankcase (block). The area where they welded the block (right side bank 1-3 cyls)  is right under the cylinder head and the guy who welded it for him welded both the block AND welded the same bead right to the cylinder head. If the head ever needed to come off that presents a significant issue since its now welded to the block (not a massive bead but the weld would still have to be cut to separate the head from the engine block).  I would also be concerned with how far the crack in the block extended inward and the weld is not very nice. Porosity and oil or coolant leakage through the weld could be a real concern as well but unknown until the engine goes in the car. Additionally, at least one of the threaded lugs on the block where the alternator is supposed to bolt to is compromised. It MIGHT be that i could repair it for use but its messy."

The stage 2+ parts, rims, and tires are worth this price.  I just want to cut my losses. Time for an bigger car for the growing family. Have clean Title!
