hi im trying to figure out what is wrong with my moms car she had a 05 audi a4 1.8t quattro and the we keep losing power steering fluid out the driver side rack and pinion and i have been to the dealer ship trying to figure out what is wrong with it and they cants seem to tell me if i need a new rack and pinion or if i can replace the seal that the pinion shaft has around it please help me i am mechanically inclined but i think its needs a new rack and pinion and my mom thinks it just needs the seal can anyone help me

 

I think you'll need a new rack. It could cost around $1,000 with labor.
