crankshaft lock pin
I'm trying to change my front crankshaft seal on my 2002 Audi Allroad Quattro 2.7 i cant seem to get to the area where you put the crankshaft lock pin in i can see where it goes but not sure how to get to it i tried a long extension with a socket but i cant get the socket on the bolt any suggestion and is it safe to remove the crankshaft bolt with the crank pin holding the crankshaft ? thanks mike

Jing Gao what I did was I took the 2 small bolts out of that big tube, that gave me the little added space I needed I use a 1/4 inch 10mm socket with 2 long extensions and a swivel , after I got the bolt out I then got the plug out with a long screw driver, I got the crank lock pin in by actually taping it to the 1/4 inch. 10mm socket ,after getting it in place I just left it their until I got my seals changed and the timing belt back on good luck
