Default White smoke

Hi
I am new to this forum. I have no mechanical skills with cars unfortunately.
I have an Audi Sline 2.0 TDI Convertible. Just over 100k on the clock now with cambelt change back in April. Problem below started well after Cambelt change.
But on start up after leaving car cold for eg:- after work hours of 11 hours I get a large amount of white smoke from exhaust for about 5 min run. Slow speed up to 40 mph. But if i put my foot down and get the revs up it disappears. It is also intermittent as this morning after leaving car over night on start up there was no white smoke that i noticed. I have just had MOT which passed with flying colours.
Any ideas out there please?

Is the check engine light on?

If it is, check the codes.

Hi CrazyHawk.
I've just recently had an oil filter and oil change and there isn't not oil light on, there isn't any warning lights on whatsoever.

Quick check - are you sure that it is white smoke, and not just condensation steam?

Nope definitely not.
When the car gets up to a reasonable temperature and sitting idle at a junction or lights the smokes seams to appear then.
Went to see a specialist yesterday very briefly as couldn't look for long and agreed it was white smoke. Having a diagnostic test on Tuesday and hopefully will resolve the problem.
He mentioned a catalogue of suggested ideas. But has said he will be astounded if it was the head gasket as he didn't think it was. He thinks it may be something to do with some kind of flap or cap filter, this is my terminology as i can not remember the mechanical terms etc. Which has a build up of soot and can burn at stationary moments ie at lights when the car as got up to temperature this sometimes gives off the white smoke effect.
