    I have not tried to make or receive a call. Everytime my iPhone has rung, I have taken it off the cradle.

    I am not using the 3.5 aux jack, but you could probably use it for most anything. Plugging your laptop into it is certainly an option. Male to Male would work, as that is how the last hook up worked on my truck. You would be good to go with that if you wanted to use it. The options are really endless.
