Can I ask you a couple of questions about my 12 A5 w 173kms/108miles? In the month I've owned it it has been using a lot of oil, litre/500 kms. The dealer told me it's well beyond the ext warranty.

From my research on this issue, it applies to 2.0T in 09 - 11 or 12 models (mine's a 12 but was mfg Aug 11). I think Audi's 2-stage approach to addressing this issue is PVC replacement, and if that doesn't work then piston replacement.

In one of your posts you mentioned PVC replacement worked in many cases. Is there any way to tell what the root cause of the problem is - PCV vs rings? Since my car was built mid-11, shortly before Audi corrected whatever was causing the issue, is it more likely related to one thing vs the other?

If I replace the PCV, is it also necessary to replace the front crank seal and update the SVM? I assume the latter would have to be done by the dealer?

Thanks for any information and advice you can provide?

You replied to my problem with my Q7 not unlocking. Anyways you suggested to put penetrant in the door lock. I. Not sure what that is. Can you please tell me what it is and where I can get it from?

Recently you replied to a problem I was having with gas mileage regarding my A6 2.7t s-line. I'm averaging 11-13 mpg. I have owned this vehicle less than two months. Plaza Audi performed a "tune up ($725) and problem still existed. I then visited Exotic Midwest and was informed the air flow meter needed to be replaced; ($636) You suggested that due to the mileage (125,000) that the O2 sensors should be replaced. Would you replace all four and the cheapest price for four (4) Bosch is at or around $500 shipped to my door. I can NOT believe that this vehicle is getting the poor gas mileage of 11-13.

This lady that's has been speaking to you about her experience at prestige audi is off her rockers. Not only was she informed of the water leak in her car she was also told of the numerous concerns with that piece of garbage she calls an Audi. Trust me when I tell you that she was more than made aware of the cars condition. She's been going to every website ranting and hoping that somebody will listen to insanity!!!! You know who you are! Like I said already, that crappy car isn't worth enough to turn into an artificial reef. Maybe a monster truck smash car...

I bought a used 2007 Q7 Premium a few months ago and am curious if the things I'm experiencing are normal or if I really need to bring it in.
    - Rides like a Porsche Boxster, I feel every crack in the road. This causes outrageous rattles and squeaks from interior. Apparently seats are known to be that true?
    - Brakes squeal sporadically although I'm told they are fine.
    - Tires and wheels go out of balance very easily. Is something worn or is that normal?
    - MMI is the hardest to use I've ever encountered and apparently is very succeptable to damage from spills despite being located in a flat position directly in front of the cupholders. Do you get complaints about this?
    - Tendency to get frost condensation on the inside of windshield.
    - Popping like an old 4x4 in front end when turning sharp left.
    - Washer fluid lines freeze below 20 degrees and it goes through wipers at an outrageous rate.

I guess I'm just really surprised/ disappointed in the engineering shortfalls this car seems to have. If I had paid $60k for this new I'd be beside myself with disgust. My old, entry level 2005 MB C230, with 90k miles on it, doesn't have nearly the imperfections the Q7 does. Are these normal complaints or did I get spoiled in my Mercedes?
