    Dear silverd2,
I just registered but I've followed many of your posts. You're awesome and your advises to others have helped me troubleshoot many problems on my '00 A8.
Since July of this year (I've had the car for 7 years, 135k on the clock), it's been running hot in slow traffic. Aux fan is running properly with A/C, but I don't see it coming if the A/C is turned off. The resistor pack is replaced, thermal switch is operational -- I removed and tested per your instructions. Jumping the wires (again per your instructions to someone else) turns the low and the high speed.

I think I can rule out thermostat and water pump as high speed drive is normal, my gauge shows 90C steady and the temperature goes up only in slow traffic. Appears to be sensitive to ambient temperature too.

Please help, I am at lost.

PS Am I supposed to hear the aux fan running after hot shutdown (100C)?
PPS My relays and 60A fuse are OK too
