Default A4 doesnt do well in lake

My month old A4 was submerged when a lake pulled out in front of me. I got the car put back together myself and running but have a few small problems that I could use some feedback on. First my temp and oil pressure gauges dont seem ot be working and the computer screen thats in hte dash between the rpms and the speedo is all red and it doesnt work. So now when the battery is hooked up the screen comes on with out the ignition on. Does anyone know how to fix this or where I can at least start. Any feedback would be good. And the car wasnt all the way submerged I could wade out of it. But I have found water in more places than i ever thought. FULL COVERAGE WOULD HAVE HELPED

hmmm.... I would look into getting a replacement instramentaion panal. it sound like it is shorting out; and i dont think your willing to wait for that water to dry. It could take years.
maybe even a replacement computer.

If your insurance is not totaling the car, sell it. Many more problems will appear in the next 18 months.

I would have left that thing in there till it floated away and then they would have totalled it.

I just lost my S4 to a puddle on Sunday night. I wasn't able to restart the car until yesterday and it was already ruined. I really can't belive that a car can be this vunerable to water. It wasn't like I was trying to ford a stream or something.

did you check the fuse board? I'm sure several fuses sustained water damage. I've had problems with my Audi TT and the radio staying backlit but not responding to anything - not turning on or completely off. Although it didn't have anything to do with water it was just a fuse problem and your display problem sounds similar. good luck.
