Im new to the Audi World and this board. im currently on another generalized automotive site turboforum.net but this place is the place for answers on my new car.
I just picked up a used 96 A4 2.8 its A/T with 180K and has many body flaws but is pretty mechanically sound. no engine modifications but it has black corners, black headlights(that the last guy spraypainted inside, what a toolbag) black powdercoated rims, euro trunk and passenger mirror.

right out the gate I have a few questions....
my auto climate control LCD lights dont work nor can i figure out how the bastard operates(since I have no owner manual) any ideas on a fix or how easy it is to replace?

2/3rd of the dash lights are out, how hard is it to get the dash out?

lastly and prolly the most expensive/worst. it drives "ok" if you like to drive like a grandma with a few shift issues but if you tromp on the gas on the entrance ramp or anywhere else...it gets to 5k in 2nd and wont shift till you back off the throttle a bit. am i screwed in the trans department or do I have options?
