Default Sold my M3...got an S4

Hello Everyone!
I just purchased my first Audi, a new 2012 S4 (S tronic/Monsoon Gray/Black Silk). I am in love with the car. I was a Sales Manager at a Porsche/Audi dealership during my wild and reckless youth (5 years ago...lol), so I have been around Audis before. However, I used to be a die-hard BMW fan. I sold my 2004 M3 Cabrio to get the Audi. It had almost 90k miles on it and needed $10k in engine and paint repairs, so it was time to go. I absolutely hate the styling of the new BMWs, so Audi officially won me over. Also, I needed an AWD vehicle, and no one does AWD better than Audi. I made that poor M3 go through weather conditions no M3 was ever meant to (blizzards, etc).

Anyway, the Audi was taken to the detailer for the first time today. I had the paint sealed, etc. I normally enjoy detailing myself, but the weather is still to cold to use the hose.

I will have to post some pics soon. Unlike my M3, I don't plan on doing any mods to the Audi. It really is perfect just the way it is. The only thing I might do is get the factory roof rack for my bike. I also need to get the front license plate filler piece. Anyone know how easy it is to install the filler myself?

Default Sold My 06 330i vert for S4

Like you I just switched from an '06 E46 330i vert to an S4. Mileage, repairs, etc. being the key considerations.

I got an S4, Phantom Blk, Split Diff, Nav, Conv, 19 inch, and B&O sound.

It was...dare I say it...the closest drive I could find to E46M3...if the M3 ever came in X drive.

I looked seriously at new 335I, tried to fall in love, just could not do it. In my opinion neither the E90 nor the F30 comes close to the classic, beautiful, german styling of the S4 or the old BMW E46.

Audi is really making some beautiful cars....the new A6 and A7 are winners.

In addition, the BMW pricing has gone simply out of whack the MSRP on the new 335I I was looking at was $57.9K vs 56.2K for my S4.

I picked up the S4 with all discounts (including BMW Conquest Discount) for $51, 250 with the $850 service program thrown in without charge. My BMW guy would not go below 53K on 335I!!

Even when I said I was going with S4...instead of meeting price...he tried to argue that F30 335I was superior. Of course he could not point to things like horse power, all wheel drive, stereo quality. In fairness the only edge is the new Nav in the 335i. It's like someone stuck an ipad on the dash.

BMW has lost another loyal customerto Audi.

Looking foward to chasing down those 335i's in my new S4

Congrats. The plate filler is simple, there are 2 screws on either side that hold it in. Just remove them, pull off the license plate holder and replace with the filler. Should take you less than 5 minutes.
