What's up? New A4
my name is Steve and I just picked up a 98 A4 Quattro yesterday and have already used this forum to get some repair info. This is my 1st Audi and I can honestly say that I have never driven a car that is as smooth and tight as this on. I bought it for $4,400 with a 2.8/ 5speed with 106,000 on it. The cel is on and I already pulled the codes which are p1198,p1199, p0160, p0116 so I know where the problems are. It runs awesome and is getting good mileage (180 miles so far and I still have over half a tank) I can't wait to get the sensors replaced and see how it does.I only plan on a magnaflow muffler (14815) maybe an intake. The only mods it has now is the grill and it was lowered. Alright, just thought I would introduce myself as I will probably be on here for awhile.

Thanks, I love this car. I'm still trying to learn everything about it. I'm still not sure what 12v and 30v are though.

12V = 2 valves per cylinder (1 intake, 1 exhaust)
30V = 5 Valve per cylinder (3 intake, 2 exhaust) That "5v" on your cylinder head beauty cover means you have the 30V motor. Cheers |

I actually just invested in a '97 a4 1.8t quattro. It was in almost immaculate shape for a very reasonable price. It turned out that the dealership owner's son was going to be getting the car so a LOT of maintenance/replacement work was done on small-but-crucial parts. The car had been garaged by its two owners and was driven very gently as there's almost no wear/tear anywhere on the body, transmission, engine bay, and it exhibits little rust anywhere. No known problems besides a pesky abs light the comes and goes even while ABS still works. |
wow.. clean
