Default 1.8 turbo care

Is there anything that I should do to help prolong the life of my turbo. This is my first turbo car. Its an 02 1.8 a4 quattro with 93000 miles.

Synthetic oil only, regular changes, seafoam in the oil every 3-4 changes, and don't boost the last few minutes you're driving to allow things to cool off before shutdown - that's about all you can control.

I've never had any experience with that, so I couldn't tell you. Most people run Mobil1 in the 1.8T with great results. Stick with that and you'll be fine.

It's an engine treatment you can use to clean the fuel system, oil, and vacuum system. The search feature will show you more than you could ever want to know about its use. There is a DIY also, I think on AudiWorld.

Thanks ImTheDevil I’ll also try some of that seafoam (£20 off flebay) stuff as i have to do a full service on a car i have.

Also i'll pick up some oil that you suggested. Could you tell me what rating i need? as I’ve not owned a diesel before? (5w-40)?
