1999 a4 quattro turbo NEED HELP!!!!
 

i have a 99 a4 quattro 1.8T. the turbo has 208k miles on it and its leaking oil BAD! now i was either looking to to rebuild it or get a use one or maybe get a brand new one. i was told that i could get a VW passat turbo and use it on my and it would fit perfect and its a little bigger. is that true? if i were to decide to get a new one what would be a good place to start looking for a new one? why don't you just replace the failing gaskets????

B5 Passats use a turbo that will interchange with the B5 A4 turbo. The part number may or may not be different (depending on year of the Passat), but the fitment will be the same. Also they are the same size turbo.

If it were me, I would install the Passat turbo (don't spend more than $100 on it), rebuild your current turbo, and install your turbo after it's rebuilt.
