i wouldnt recomind turboing a 3.2l the compression is 11.3:1. if you dont rebuild the bottom end your just going to throw a rod.

make up your mind first it not high comp not its running 11.3:1

In this case you could only run about 5-7psi which would still be a substainal gain 20-40% increase in power depending on turbo. But for more power you would need to lower it to 8:1-9:5:1 and that would require custom pistons unless someone already exsist.

11.3:1 is deff high compresion and 5-7 psi may still blow the motor i would be extremly carefull. I would recomind not turboing anything ove 10.3:1

Sorry I didn't check this forum in a couple days, I've been sick. Well, what's it run to rebuild the bottom end- how much cash?

it really depends on the cost of parts (if they are available/need custom made) and the install. In your situation you may need to get some decompression pistons to get the pressure in the cylinder down. I dont think they make a decompression gasket that will be able to lower the compression down to below 10:1 so pistons will be the only option. Rods shouldnt need replaced for the amount of boost you would be running (unless you plan on running more than 5-7psi). But with a good tune and a nice size turbo you can easily add 20-40% increase in power from just the 5-7psi.

You could go a gt3076r w/ a .86 turbine. or a pair of gt28r or rs. these combos will give a great spool and plenty of power even with a low boost. I cant seemed to find it but someone took there 2.8 and made a twin turbo kit. I cant remember if they got ko3s or went bigger. If you want go ko3s you can buy used ones on the forums for around $100 each. They are durable and can easily go 100k miles. If you go this route you would cut out some serious cost and there will ne almost no lag and it will fell more like a large V8.

If I do go dual turbo, how would the gt28rswork? (since it is usually only for 2.2L and under) Does dualing the turbo double it's liter rating? Making it up to 4.4L?

yes, you will only have 3 cylinders flowing one turbo or 1.6L/turbo. A typical 1.8t has no problem spooling a 28rs up and with 1.6L and running less than 10psi it will spool 5-7psi maybe 2900-3200 rpms.

The more i think about it the better running 2 ko3s sounds. You can run more boost with them and since you have a real awd system the extra low end torque and no lag will make you car very fast and feel like a new s4 with a V8 if not much faster. And the cost of 2 used ko3s' will be far less than half a gt turbo.

Hmm, sounds good. I'll look more into it. Thanks for the suggestion.
