Can I raise boost until chip time?

2003 A4 (B6) 1.8TQM with 116K, got car 3/2014 with 110K miles.

Assuming someone here knows of the diode and waste gate spring mods, I wanted to ask your opinion of the risk level you perceive in doing these things to get better than stock boost until I can afford to take the next step up.

I am thinking of doing the Diode, and MBC Mod this weekend, but need to do the waste gate spring mod at same time because I believe my waste gate is tired and on the way out.

I get a rattle-like flutter when coming off wot especially in lower gears (2nd or 3rd). I installed manual vacuum/boost gauge two weeks ago and the numbers appear to be normal according to feedback I have gotten (vac is -20 at idle, boost max at 6 or 7 psi on wot) and I only have the kkl usb right now, have not bought the ross tech yet...

I would love to feel 15 psi to see if an ecu tune will be enough, or wait for big expense of big cat, exhust, bt, maf, fmic, tune, coils, etc. (~$5K). I would like to be satisfied with the 15 psi boost and just save up for the Motoza Stage 1+ with 550cc injectors by end of this year.

Only mods to car are K&N panel filter, and 710N diveter valve I installed at 113K miles when doing timing belt (gates Kevlar), tensioner, accessory belt, Apikol Snub mount, and most pcv and one way valves (have done all the work myself so far).

Using Pentosin II, large Mann filter, and ECS magnetic drain plug also.

Anyone thoughts on this being a waste of a day's work (meaning it will not give me a close approximation of what the stage 1+ tune will be like), or dangers to the engine (knowing that I need to keep the mbc at 15 to avoid spikes)?

Thanks for feedback. I will keep you updated with progress.

15 psi on stock tuning is out of the question. you will need to get a proper chip to boost that high. yes, it is possible, but don't do it.
