Diverter Valve?

So I am new to this, and was looking for some guidance/input. I have been looking at some threads in here about DVs and BOVs and to be honest I dont even know if getting one would do anything to my car. I have a 2004 A4 1.8T, pretty much stock, only used for daily driver to work and the such, and I probably wont be putting much into it. So would getting a diverter valve even going to do anything? or is is wasted money. If it is something i should get, what is the best way to go for my car, DV/BOV and what manufacturer? Again, very new to this. Thanks for the help.

In your situation I would just get the Bosch 710N Diverter Valve. Which is better than the stock one you have in your B6 1.8T. You can buy one online for $44-$50 and be done with it.

The R1 is designed for optimal performance. The main body of the valve is investment cast in an aluminum alloy.Size Range ...................... 1/2" - 4" (15 - 100 mm)
Service Operation ......... Diversion, Mixing, Blending

whats wrong with the stocker? if you're not planning on doing mods to your car the stock one should be fine. no need to waste 50-150 bucks on something that wont do anything.
