new turbo, new transmission?

hey,

i was wondering if i get a better turbo like the GT2X eliminator or the K04, and i have a 99 1.8T, do i need to get a better tranny or a new one?

will the 1.8 trany hold up to 350 hp? what will it be able withstand?

thanks a lot

You'll need a new clutch and pressure plate, but the 1.8T tranny is fairly stout.

I know that tiptronic is solid, but I have no clue how much it can hold. best bet, is to power up, break it, and put manual 5/6spd in.

lol, I didnt even notice he had a TIP.

Good call.

You'll be fine, Bro. Youve got a torque converter, and numerous clutch packs to make the power transfer buttery smooth. Much less invasive (and destructive) then a manual at elevated power levels. You will be increasing wear and tear and narrowing service intervals, which are more expensive on a auto, but thats inevitable no matter what kind of tranny you have. Personally I'd be more worried about your CV joints.

350bhp should pose no big threat, have fun and good luck.

DoI need to change anything in my car so nothing breaks with all that power?

Or could I just bolt on that turbo and go?

What size injectors are the best?

I think there is a chip for the tip.
It changes the shift points, I dont know how efective it is.
