Hey everybody. For the past few months, I have been working on creating a remote mount turbo kit for my 2.8L V6 30v. I was hoping to have a complete kit to replicate and sell, but I just don't have the time. I am looking to sell this kit to someone who is willing to finish what I started.

The kit includes:

***TURBONETICS T3/T04E Turbo-Compressor Trim: 60-1, Turbine A/R:.48 with a 5-bolt outlet MSRP:$936

Turbosmart 38mm External Wastegate, 7psi spring

Greddy type RS style BOV (can be recirculated)

K&N 3" filter

Oil pump

Charge piping + welded BOV flange - 3 inch from throttle body, 2 inch from turbo

Exhaust piping + welded T3 flange

Oil feed line, return line and fittings

Silicone couplers, reducers, and clamps

Hangars for charge piping are included.

This kit does not come with tuning but it surprisingly runs as smooth as stock with the stock injectors, with no detonation whatsoever. The turbo is mounted where the resonator used to be. The only way to mount the turbo is to weld a hangar onto the car, so this is the only welding needed. A 5 bolt flange, which connects to the turbine outlet, is welded to a short 2.5 inch downpipe. The exhaust gases from the wastegate are dumped into the atmosphere, which makes it sound really aggressive. I did not have a chance to dyno my car, but it definitely cured the flat spot. Full boost of 7psi hits at around 2500 rpm, thanks to the dual ball bearings. I am currently not running water coolant to the turbo (I just left the ports open). This is kit only bolts on to the 30 valve 2.8L. A lot more power can be gained from tuning this kit and I am very interested to see if anyone can finish it with tuning so it can be sold to all the 2.8 owners out there who need more power! Why are you selling your setup?

 

As stated in the first post, I do not have time. Many of you members with more time could possibly complete this and finish what I have started. Unfortunately, due to some family issues, I am unable to finish it. It's a shame, because I was so close.

 

If I had the money to buy the stuff from you, I would, but I'm lacking the finances right now...could be the low paying job, could be the fact I only work 20 hours a week...Looks like a pretty nice install. If you still have it around in a butt-load of a long time from now, let me know, LoL, all I got is time.

 

Intresting kit you dreamed up.However I am not sure how your oil is draining back to the motor?The return seems to be in question. Is the turbo leaking oil for that exact reason, it does seem wet down there?where is the oil returning to?Typically the oil drain needs to be well about the oil level in the pan.Gravity is your friend here.Ortherwise the turbo lives a short and painful death. Although unorthodox It can be fixed with some extra hardware.

Excuse me? Dreamed up? More like developed and designed. No dreaming here.. all real. If you read the first post carefully, the oil returns to the engine via scavenge pump with more than enough psi to keep the turbo from flooding. There are absolutely no oil leaks; I do not know where you see any leaks. The shine from the garage floor because it is sealed epoxy. Thanks for the knowledge, but all of that is already figured out. Also, it seems to me that this forum is full of talk, no action. Everyone is looking for more power for the 2.8L 30v engine right? Well here is your chance! If I was a smart and handy guy, which I am pretty sure most of you are, I would jump on this opportunity right away. The turbo kit is COMPLETE of the hardware part of the equation. All that is left is finding some sort of tuning(software part of the equation), and a 2-5 hour install. The ONLY reason holding me back from having the fastest 2.8 IN THE WORLD is my work and family....those two things are more important to me now. Anyway, with this measly $2500 for a complete kit (remember the turbo and wastegate alone are well over $1400) and at most $1000 in tuning, you have a 2.8 with power in the 300 WHEEL HP range for $3500. That is $1500 UNDER the $5000 PES supercharger, which in fact only offers at most 300 CRANK HP. So you can do the math. Obviously with what I am offering, you are getting more HP for your money. One thing that might help whoever is interested in buying is researching UNICHIP for a possible tuning solution. I would look into that. Finally, I would like to commend Kakarot for being the only person who is actually doing some R&D. I would like to see more of the younger forum members who have a lot of time, to start doing some as well, instead of sitting around and complaining and waiting.
