If you spend 2mins searching, you would learn that they are basically interchangeable and since you have an 01, you just swap them and your done

its a direct bolt on more air means more fuel dont know much after that. higher pressure reg. programming for new turbo, new dv, that should do it.

they just swap straight over at least me aeb a6 did was flowing 216bhp on standard 150bhp audi map, and around 260 with custom chipped uk map, just changed for a forge 007 dv to cope with extra boost just changing over to full sillicone piping to help with boost leak .

Well you are going to need to be chipped with a Ko4 file and you should golden.

You can just stick it in there with no file, but you are unlikely to get much more power out.

I would personally suggest giving me your turbo. but you prolly wont go for that soooooo.

You will want to get some Bosch TT225 injectors and the file for that via the chip. Then you are looking at a 40hp increase.

retune for the larger turbo. With 40HP you can probably get away w/o larger injectors maybe just bump the fuel pressure a little - but you'll still want to retune...

I am looking to do the same thing, I'd like to change the K03 to a k04. Does anyone know where I could get some part numbers for the k04's?

I have an A6 2.7T btw.... 2004. Anything I should do prior or after swaping?

Make sure you get the right flange for the turbo. They are different on for the 1.8 than the 2.7. Search Ebay for an OEM K04 turbo, and if it looks like it is a good deal and its new, more than likely its not OEM.

i know this is a very old thread, but i didnt want to **** people off by making a new one

i have an 01 2.7t, do I have to buy a kit with the intake pipes or do i just need something like the second one

http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C5_A6-...bo/K04/ES1372/

or

http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C5_A6-...rbo/K04/ES470/

edit: i just stumbled across this website, http://www.gpopshop.com/rebuilding.html

is getting turbos rebuilt a good idea? its sort of a last resort as I am very strapped for cash at the moment, but if its pointless id be willing to just hold off until I could get a kit.
