STI inter cooler on B6 A4?

Wondering what y'all thought about this or if anyone has tried it. A close friend has a stock STI intercooler off of his 2009 STI he's letting me have cheap. Any reason this one will not fit or perform as well as a different aftermarket one? After looking at it, it appears like it will fit, with possibly some minor cutting/trimming. What size aftermarket are y'all running? This would have to be better than nothing, correct?

It measures 22.5" long, 12.5" tall, 7.5" wide from the inner most coupler section to the outer edge of the IC.

The car is a 2002 A4 1.8T Quattro 5 speed. All stock minus short throw.

The way the piping is run on a stock tmic, the piping won't fit. Either upgrade the side or get a fmic

should have clarified, im looking to retrofit the TMIC into the front bumper of my A4. we measured, and using a 90* elbow off the top, we can run it through the side of the bumper, up into the intake manifold.

im mostly looking at if this will still upgrade my cooling, assuming i can make it fit? ive got the tools to fabricate mounts and the such, just never messed with cooling properties of intercoolers.

This is going to be a pain in the ass to plumb if you can even make it fit, which I doubt. People have issues running 2.5" deep cores, good luck with this and the plumbing behind it.

Is it better than stock, yes, but not enough to waste time and money on. Get a real fmic or buy a kit.
