Someone has one, but it mounts where the stock muffler sits and the intake filter is down near the ground.

He is the one that has made posts, but I also think he was looking to sell his car at one point.

I am currently working on a twin turbo setup for the 96 2.8 Q I just purchased. I've done custom turbo kits before and I can tell you that you're going to spend at least $600 min per turbo and that's non bb. After talking to techs and doing research I've come to think that this motor is not strong enough for any serious power in stock form. I just sold my 04 GTI this summer which was a 1.8T pushing 375 atw with a GT35bb turbo. This motor has 151k on it so I plan to rebuild it with good rods and pistons to hold up to the power. I don't know how well the stock internals would fare with added power of say 400hp. And in case anyone is curious, the 1.8t was fwd and I wanted awd to be able to spank some STI's and EVO's. That and I only paid $1200 for it. I'll keep you guys updated.

What is your plans for tuning?

BTW Anmargo - The guy with the rear mounted turbo A4 2.8 goes by the same name here on AF as what he has on youtube, it is ASV4K8 and here is his post about his car https://www.audiforums.com/forum/nitrous-super-chargers-turbos-26/my-12v-v6-rear-mount-turbo-setup-done-56693/

More info on his car

I more than likely will do a standalone for engine mgmt. Something I should have thought about before building up my GTI. I'll have to source a manual tranny though because I know that slushbox is going to end up being the weak link in the end. That would also allow me to use a pretty stout clutch setup. First order of business is to get the body repaired since I bought it as a salvage title.

BTW before I try to re-invent the wheel, does any one know if the 2.7 heads will work on the 2.8? And also if the 2.7t exhaust manifolds will bolt up to the 2.8 heads?
