Default 4.2L bottom end.. what can it handle?

I want to know generally what the 4.2L can handle, I see a few S/C setups, but are they building up the bottom end to take that or is it all oem. I'd like to know because i'm thinking of fabricating my own forced induction/supercharger and or possibly nitrous setup. I figured i'd ask if there was a general knowledge of how much before it would pop. Thanks in advance for your input.

Are you considering a B6 S4 or a C5 A6?

As far as I understand it is a pretty solid block. Not sure if the internals are forged from the factory or not. Your engine should handle up to ~450hp without modifying internals.

VAST Performance near Detroit is working on a kit now and MTM in Europe has one available. I'm sure if you get a hold of one of them they may be willing to give you more information.
