Anywhere I can get a transmission rebuilt???
 

Hey all,
I have a 2001 4.2 liter AWD A6 that needs a transmission rebuild. Does anyone know who rebuilds them? The only place I can find is Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions in AZ. But I am in NH and there must be someone closer. I'd even be ok with finding a low mileage unit from a junkyard, but they seem extremely hard to come by. $4800 for one with 66k miles.... I wanna get this thing running and it's the only thing holding me back. Thanks a lot!

to bad its not a six speed tt tranny. im getting rid of one for $1800. i will look around for you theres alot of audi stuff floating around near me.

I was considering swapping in a 6 spd, just a little too much tochange over. The rear diff. especially. I'm west of Windham, over near Milford. All the car does is look nice at the moment. Hope to get it rolling pretty quick. I'll give trans-medic a try. Thanks a lot for the help,

Try to contact Baskin 4.2l - he did a swap for 6speedand had his tranny on sale some time ago...
