I just failed an inspection at Rahway, NJ due to tinted windows.

The tints are very light and you can hardly notice them. Does anyone know if I can just peel off the FAIL sticker and try my luck at another DMV ? Can they track if the car has been inspected already?

I'm not sure about the privately run facilities, but I would assume that the state run sites would communicate information with one another.

I would not advise you to peel off the fail sticker....it should be the only one you have (they should have removed the original sticker) I'm pretty sure your looking for more trouble than that is worth.

Best advice is to go to a paid inspection site and see if they pass you. Or go totally illegal and find someone to buy a sticker from and when you get caught really pay the price.

BTW, if the tints are light and you can barely notice them....why have them and go through this trouble......remove them and then get re-inspected....unless you are lying and they are darker than you state.
