"best" vacuum cleaner
For starters I'm clueless about these things, just buying one for someone to replace the one she got from Noah's ark. What would you recommend as a good vacuum for under $300? From the little research I've done so far I may get this one...

Here is the vacuum I bought. It has a 4.8 rating (JUST LIKE A DYSON.. ;).)
My only complaint is that its pretty heavy. Its the 2nd bagless vacuum I've used and the first was so terrible to empty that I almost didn't buy this one. I'm glad I did. Its a breeze to empty and its not messy at all. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...pright+Vacuums |

the best is a Dyson - I have 2 - one for each floor of the house.
eCost.com sells refurbished Dyson's for $299 (that's how I got my second one) http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=38485040 Quick story: I remember when I first bought it 18 mos ago or soand my sister-in-law was giving me crap at a family gt at her place about spending $500 on a Dyson. I simply got up and left without saying a word - everyone, including my wife -thought I was mad. I returned shortly with the Dyson and put her to a challenge to vaccum her bedroom with her bagless Eureka for only 10 mins (or less) and then I'll follow afterwards - they have animals so I knew I had her. She did her thing and got some stuff up and I had her wait for me before she emptied hers. You could tell the Dyson was getting nearly all the hair. The Dyson got 2x as much stuff as the Eureka. My revenge was the dumping of the dirt - Dyson's are cool because they are brilliantly designed - two buttons - one to remove the whole unit and another to release a trapdoor at the bottom so it all drops free into the trash, though it helps to bang the side a little to get all the fine dead skin cells debris. [:'(] Hers you had to slide the container off the venting unit and she got sheet on the floor and everything. Needless to say they now have a Dyson of their own. :D |

Best one IMO is a Kirby. I have one, and it's great... but it's also ridiculously expensive. Dyson is really good as well.
