*sniff* WHY?!
Yesterday I went with my mom to test drive the new TT. Took it out for a a spin, we both absolutely loved it. Handled and sounded brilliant for me (not to mention the DSG gearbox), and she liked the...err...all the things girls like. Anyways, we sat down and worked some stuff out with the salesman, and he was supposed to call us back this morning. Well he didn't, and also didn't answer any of the calls my mom made to him either -- truly terrible service. Something must have happened to her brain at that point, because I just got home from work and apparently she wants a Corolla. Yes, a TOYOTA COROLLA.
WTF HAPPENED?!
She wants a cheap, reliable asian car over the best sports coupe of the decade. Please, PLEASE ask your wives/girlfriends what interests females in such a car, so I can steer her away from it. We've owned Audis for the past 15 or so years, and I don't want this change.
I'm begging you.
Please.

tell her for safety she needs awd

Next suggestion.

You could always work on the "tradition" angle.
Or, tell her the Audi is "prettier."
Or, threaten to hold your breath until she caves in and gets the Audi

Hahahaha good suggestions guys...so far I've decked out all my computer screens with wallpapers of the new TT, and promised her that I will never, ever, be seen driving, riding in, parking, getting out of, getting into, communicating with a person inside of, washing, gesturing at, looking at, or even being within the general vicinity of this Corolla if she decides to get it. I have yet to measure how far it is from the garage to my room, but that will be the permanent minimum distance I must keep from this hypothetical soulstealer if it ever comes.
That is a pretty extreme and tragic move to go from Audi to Toyota. Nothing really wrong with either car but how you can go from a TT to a Corolla is beyond me. There must be something else at foot here, so Sherlock, find what ticked and solve it!
I gave up a car for because of a sales person so I can understand your mom, but there are other dealers. When I got my second MR2, I drove 1 hour each way, uphill both ways with traffic to get service just because I did not want to go to the dealership that was less than 1 minute away since they were crooks.
I would go with Trey25 on this one, play on the middle age crisis, the time to indulge is now, there will be many years for Corollas later.
Good luck!

Not only all the above, but does she realize she'll be driving a car that looks identical to one that's already 3 years old? The current Corolla is about to be replaced by a new one in '08.

Also, tell her that she'll be getting serious attention from male motorists in the TT. In the Corolla, she'll be invisible.
