I'm trying to buy an old model porsche. someone is selling a 1974 porsche 911 carrera targa for about $5k. it looks in fair condition. Does anyone know about this year. It has a 2.7 engine. I know it has a oil leak. what do you guys think. is it easy to work on. easy to get parts, etc.

loose the bra and wheels,, nice looking car for $5k, they are fairly simple to work on. not to much electronics

 

sorry, i only love the 79. don't know why, maybe that big *** whale tail *** seen in the last american spy.

I'm not a big fan of the older engines, but for that price, and loosing that front black bra, you can't go wrong. I'd pick it up, and learn on it. Why not?

 

looks a very good deal (the oil leak could be a big problem financially) so run the engine till up to temp and see if it blows blue smoke if yes be prepared to spend another 5k+
