Default After six year of quattro fun...

I have stepped away from Audi for a bit. The awesome B7S4 I had simply needed too many repairs, which for a car with 192K miles, was no longer worth putting the money into.

So I got a 2012 Jetta TDI! The apple didn't fall too far from the tree. This will just be a temporary absence from Audi and quattro. In a couple years, the TDI will probably go to one of the kids, and I have my eyes on an S5. We shall see what the future holds.

Sportwagen? I've considered one of the VW TDI models as well, seems pretty awesome to get 50+ mpg even with a tune!

Nah, regular sedan. My last 6 years have also been in a manual, now I'm back to auto... pretty funny trying to hit the clutch every time I start the car, or putting the car in neutral as I come up to a stop light. The DSG is taking some getting used to. Normal mode seems to shift too early, sport mode almost takes it to redline in every gear!

I know that feel. I wanted to keep my A4 in the worst way but I couldn't justify the repairs anymore. 'grats on the new car, those look very nice. I'll get back into an Audi again eventually!

Not sure why it came out sideways... but who cares...

anyway, been averaging about 35 MPG, so that's a plus.

Sweet! I'm digging it.

You gonna lower it? Bags for those things are fairly cheap.

Seems like this is happening to a lot of the OGs - my A4 goes to a new owner at the end of the month. For now it'll just be the MSport, although if I stumble across a cheap beater 12v qm as a winter/backup car I'll be on it like flies on s***. Brad, the new car looks great. Sure don't blame you for passing on maintaining a 200k mile 4.2!

I miss her every day. I don't miss how much oil she consumed. I don't miss the complete suspension overhaul she needed, nor the fact that she also needed a new fuel pump. But I sure do miss rowing through all 6 gears and that growl. Man, that growl. I've got my eyes set on an S5 (V8 type of course) within the next year or two depending on how things go. I know the V6T is way better on gas mileage and more easily tunable, but there certainly is something spiritual about a V8 exhaust note. A good one, not some Mustang owner with straight pipes trying to overcompensate from something... haha.
