to all the dog owners
 

just wondering what you do when you have to take your dog with you in your car. i put the back seats down and lay a blanket down. hair still gets everywhere, its the main reason im thinking of switching to a wagon. anyway just wanted to hear of how other people travel with their dogs. cause i got a 65lb stinky pit bull thats with me till the end!

I've got an eight pound Chihuahua. He rarely goes in the car but if he goes somewhere he will either chill in my lap or if I take him to the vet, he will be in his traveling kennel.

I have lizards. I just put Brainzilla, my two year old beared dragon on my dashboard and he slides around. It's a riot!

LMAO, just got the stink eye from my boss for that comment :D. I'm with skunkoncrunk, have a 7lb Chihuahua that for the most part sits in her travel bag or sometimes on my lap.

i have a wagon and the allroad has a fence in back to put up for that exact situation, but my dog is skinny as hell and always squeezes around the side of it. He just chills too in my lap.

My pup Tyson & Jazmine share the backseat all the time. (that dont sound right lol) Anyways I have always kept a blanket on the backseat with no problems. Nobody has ever said the car smells like dog yet either.

We just put my dog in my Mom's Freestyle or my Dad's Explorer. I don't think he would fit very well in my A4. He is an 85lb Golden.

Yes the "chocodog" (name givenby AF member's) ismy 2yr old femalestaff. weighing in at 50lbs. The pup I got from the humane society so I dont know exactly what he is. They think he has some American Bulldog in him which is what theyregistered him as.

My Choc Lab Chloestands on the front seat of my TT roadster with her head out the window. I have a dog harness that snaps to the seatbelt to hold her in and a sweet pair of doggles to keep the bugs out of her eyes.

dude the doggles are awesome. i want a harley with a side car sooo bad so my dog can chill in it with doggles. thats rad. so you just let him up on the leather huh? im afraid the claws will rip it. thats never happened?

never happened. her nails are clipped pretty short. she stands mostly on her pads. no problems at all.

however my dhead brother rode in my car this weekend and hadscrew driverin his back pocket and now I have a small cut in the leather!! <--i'm looking to buy a passenger side grey TT seat if you know of one.

Thanks, he is a fast little bugger. i want to get a radar and clock him. at the dog park, nothing can catch him. he outruns every dogten times his size! He only weighs 11 pounds.

Just take a rabbit and hang it out the window on a stick. When the dog starts falling back mark that speed. (the stick/broom keeps the lil fella away from tires);)

I might try this tonight with Jazmine cause she's pretty quick.

I predict 20-25mph.

Yep, my dog was quick as well.. he was a lab. Originalyl a hunting dog, we got him at less than a year old

My family have a Great Dane... I'm pretty sure she wouldn't fit in my car no matter what.

Thanks! He's awesome... very well behaved and doesn't bark like crazy like other small dogs.

Speaking of clocking your dogs speed, I was thinking the same for my dog haha. He's fast and when he gets hyper he will start doing laps around the house. :D
