Hey yall. My girl just went back to advanced training in arizona. We spent the hoildays togeather and she's been gone for five days now and I'm starting to feel pretty sh!tty about it.

She's an Awsome Girl, smarter then me and a few of you guys put togeather. She's in the reserves, but I'm worried about her getting deployed.

Any thoughts, comments or advice would be helpful.

 

Unless the sheet wraps up pretty quick in Iraq - I'm sure she'll see a deployment...

But that's why she joined the Reserves, right?

Im not dating anyone in the military but I do feel really bad for you and I hope everything works out for the best. Just try and spend as much time as you can with her. Good luck

 

which branch of service? I was gonna say write her some letters, to keep in touch, 'cuz chicks dig that k-rap, but, if she's a WM, it might not go over "butch" enough, and you'd get dumped for being too soft...

But, if she's NOT a WM, yeah, write her a letter, once a week or so, to let her know what's going on back home, and that you're not out doggin' around (after all, you're spendig ALL your time thinking up **** to write, right?). She'll appreciate it, AND you get some *easy* P-Points in the process.

 

^5 that- the reserves and Guard are pulling their share of combat tours- more than active duty in some instances. Dude, she's going to the sandbox; thats why she signed on the dotted line. Just be supportive of her decision, and when the time comes for her to deploy, send her care packages with her favorite snacks, the soap, shampoo and conditioner she uses... stuff like that. She'll be fine. I just hope she's not an MP.

 

Not dating anyone in the Military, but coming from someone who is IN the Military- Not to rain on your parade, but she most definitely make a trip over to the sandbox. It's a just a question of when. It depends on her job, and her unit as well. If you can't take 5 days apart, what are you gonna do when it turns into 12-18 months????

She first went to basic in september, Came home a few days before christmas, Left on the 4th and will be gone till sometime in may.
She's in the Army resevers for military intelligent, So I'm not sure what kind of deployment she'll get.
I got her a laptop she can keep with her. We can keep in touch and video chat whenever we want.
When she gets back she already has a job lined up as an art teacher at a local high school.
She mostly signed up to pay off her tuition loans.
