I miss my old car... Still have the dog and girlfriend, though.
We've taught her (the dog) to give kisses. Awwww....

Dude, long time no talk!

Yup, I used them sporadically last summer... though I hardly got out on the bike at all! It surges at 7-8k rpm... frustrating. I've been told that my power commander might be dead (apparently common) so I think I'm just going to take it off and run the exhaust without a proper tune and see if it gets rid of the surging. :P I can't afford another power commander + tune.

And there was no thread... I never publicized the sale of my beloved B5. I sold it in August, I think... I bought a 2004 Ultrasport, and have since bought a 2002 1.8T with sport package, dolphin gray on light grey interior. The USP is up for sale... black on black with a 6 spd. *sigh*. It's a 3.0, too... which is a great motor, even compared to the venerable 1.8T.

oh dude that sucks! if you want i can help you out. have you done any diagnosing yourself? it's definitely something you can handle on your own, don't let a shop tell you it's complicated, it's not.

Well, it just surges... that's the only way I can explain it. Or bogs... I guess I could say that it bogs. If I roll onto the throttle hard at say 5k, it'll bog at 7-8k and after that it pulls really hard.
I swapped plugs, air filter is clean.
I've also downloaded every exhaust map for my bike, and tried them all one by one... same symptoms. This, I think, offers evidence for the power commander being dead. I felt no difference with the different maps I tried...
I suppose if I disco the PC, and it smooths the bike out... I'll know my problem was the PC, right?

What's wrong with working on the 3.0? [:-]

yup, you can disconnect it very easily under the rear seat (usually)...it's connected inline between the ecu and the injectors, so you just pull the plugs, reconnect the stock plugs and test it out. for some reason the pc's for that generation gixxer 6 are more likely to fail than others.

how long ago did you buy the pc? Dynojet might be willing to replace it for you under warranty
