Default Audi Fast Track Mechanic's Program??

Has anyone been through Audi's "fast track" mechanic's program? I stopped by my local dealer today and they told me about an opening they had for this 3 year program. Please share your experiences.

3 years is a long time to call it a fast track mechanics course, I would think you would be fairly competent in half that time but not seen as skilled by garage/dealers standards ( you can only learn so much ) and the rest is due to experience and then the years in the trade, I know many none time served techs which I would trust a ferrari to because they love the job not because it carries lots of toilet paper some call certificates ( I have lots of that ) but its what the heart has to offer, there are those who are born to the trade

Once your done with your training and get hired by an audi dealer they will shadow you with more experienced technicians until youre compitent enough to do some things on your own.

soooooo true.

my shift lever snapped off and they billed me for a new boot, and shift **** (apparently it breaks whenever you have to remove it.) as well. they never put the new boot on so they refunded that and I fought tooth and nail for a refund on the shift ****.. i know for a fact i can unscrew the know without it breaking.

eh most techs are usually hacks becasue they are overwhelmed with work and just do things to get them done. its not like a private shop ya know? its not good but thats just how it is.
