Default audi nightmare

Hey Guys.

as you all know i goit my A6 less than a month ago. Within 2 weeks it had been in the shop for a complete set of coils. Today I was driving home and got the low oil pressure warning light flashing. Who knows what this could be now? This car is killing me, and i am considering trading it back in for something more reliable

Check your oil level. I got that warning a bunch of times with my 2.8 A4 and found that it was caused by not having enough oil. When I would take a right turn the oil in the pan would slosh over to the left (oil pump is on passenger side) and would cause it to throw a low oil pressure warning.

hopefully that is as simple as your problem, because simply adding oil would fix it. But then you would have to look into the reason why your car lost all of that oil in the first place...

What motor do you have??

That sucks, by the way. I've been pretty lucky with my car.

It's the 3.0. I have been reading that it could be the Oil Pressure Sending Unit. we'll see tomorrow.

I hope it gets better for you. I mean I have a whole laundry list of little things that need to be replaced that are throwing a CEL on my car, but I know what has to be replaced and what can wait a while.

I'm still trying to convince the parents, the TB is an important thing. but probably I'll just buy the kit and do it myself this summer, along with my thermostat.

Can anyone tell me why parents would not want their son to save money by working on his car?

and how's the new house working out for you?

Yeah but you hear horror stories about ever car in reality, there are always some thigs that go wrong. IT just so happens that Audi's for some reason tend to perpetuate the horror stories and bury all the stories that put the company in a good light. Such as my dad owning an old 5000 for 16 years (approx. 300,000 miles we were guessing) and never having to change the TB. But then again you here of the 1.8t' TB going early and total devestation and engine sludge, and everything else. So it's really about what makes you happy, they are not cheap to fix (I know that one, and I'm sure you're finding it out) put they are a pleasure to drive (you should know that one too) and they have a certain charm about them.
