I was wanted to post for anyone watching that the national geographic channel is premiering a show about incredible factories. The factory that the r8 is built in will be that factory. They are going to showcase the step by step build of the R8, the ultimate sports car.

 

Hows about telling us the specifics on the show like date/time. Ya know, nothing major though.

It was a sweet show. Did anyone watch the bugatti veyron factory show that was on right before it?

They talked about micheln making the tires specifically for the veyron. Avg lifespan 6,000 miles. A set of 4 costs $17,000.

I watched the bugatti show. I couldn't believe it when they said that the first prototype blew a 6 foot flame out of the exhaust :O. Also amazed that the car had something like 16 radiators... They couldn't truly test the engine on a dyno because it put out so much heat it would have burned the building down.

 

yeh that one was sweet...said the motor didn't actually have the 1100 hp, but something like 3000hp, but that an additional 2000 hp was lost as pure heat

250mph, that is pretty incredible.

 

Wow!! I wish I saw that. Can anyone tell me when the next show like this will be on?
