Okay purdy car - but sheesh, these guys go on and on about it like it was the second coming! Personally I'm not fond of the color scheme - but that's my personal taste... where's the story behind the car?

I've been searching but can't find out the whole story it looks like, some of it seems to be misinformation but what Autoblog has everyone seems to agree on:
