Default Christmas Traditions

With Christmas tomorrow, I though we could share some of our favorite holiday traditions. One of my all time favorites was Christmas omelets. My dad would cook omelets every Christmas morning. They are amazing, and only he can make them they way he did. He still makes omelets every Christmas morning, but I'm not there to enjoy them.

Another tradition I grew up with that I now do with my kids is no names on the presents. That way, they can't shake and guess what's inside, because they don't know which ones are theirs until we tell them. We color code the wrapping paper so we don't get them mixed up

And, a new tradition has started, which I intend to follow through on every year I'm home... Rib Eye Roast. I made one last year, and it was so good, I'm doing it again this year...

My parents color coded wrapping paper too but all of us are too old for that now. One thing we do is beef wellington for Christmas Eve dinner and turkey for Christmas Day.

My grandparents (my Dad's side) are coming over tomorrow morning for gifts and homemade biscuits and gravy. Then I think we're having Christmas dinner and more gifts at my step-mother's parents place tomorrow night. Not really feeling it this year.

My parents used to do the same when I was growing up. No names on the gifts. :-)

We usually get together on Christmas Eve and spend the evening catching up, just talking, with the TV on. This usually goes on til the AM. The next day we usually start with breakfast together at the garden with the whole family.

After breakfast is usually free time for us until the afternoon when we get to eat the home cooked deliciousness.

Uhh, tradition broken? My step-mother is making sausage bread instead of the usual. I'll take it, though!

Merry Christmas!

Edit: Having B&G and sausage bread!

And Brad, that looks delicious.

It was A-MAAAAAAZING... You know in the original Matrix when the guy was eating the prime rib talking to Smith about being put back in the Matrix, and he just savors that one bite? It was like that for every bite. My wife was laughing at me.
